What is Ammonium Citrate Dibasic?
Ammonium hydrogen citrate, also known as ammonium hydrogen citrate or diammonium citrate, belongs to organic compounds, called tricarboxylic acids and their derivatives. These are carboxylic acids that contain exactly three carboxyl groups. Ammonium citrate binary is a very weakly alkaline (basically neutral) compound (based on its PKA).
Ammonium Citrate Dibasic Use
- It can be used as carbon source and nitrogen source to synthesize fluorescent nitrogen doped carbon nanoparticles (CNPs).
- Drugs; antirust; Cotton printing; Plasticizer, analytical reagent for the determination of phosphate in chemical fertilizer.
- Used as a buffer in cosmetics; Chelating agent.
- Iron citrate contains iron combined with the phosphate you eat through food, which helps your body absorb less phosphate. This reduces the amount of phosphorus (a mineral) in the blood.
- Clean water.
- Potassium ferricyanide is used as part of the blue type photography process.
- As a food ingredient, it has an INS number and is used as an acidity regulator [to be cited]. Most notably for the Scottish beverage IRN bru.
- As heme.
- The iron agar (KIA) test for Kligler produces hydrogen sulfide by observing different glucose metabolism of Enterobacteriaceae
- Ammonium ferric citrate is used as a contrast agent in medical imaging.
