What is 3-Aminopropanol?
3-Aminopropanol is a commonly used pharmaceutical intermediate for the synthesis of drugs such as cyclophosphamide and xylidine. It can also be used for the synthesis of DL-panthenol.
The conventional method is obtained by catalytic hydrogenation of β-hydroxypropionitrile, adding β-hydroxypropionitrile, Rainy nickel, ethanol and ammonia into an autoclave to react, and the purity of the obtained 3-amino-1-propanol exceeds 95%. The rate is close to 60%; in 2004, SylviePicard et al. synthesized 3-amino-1-propanol using DMSO and dichloromethane, and the purity of the product obtained was 98%, but the yield was only 12%; in 2007, Springgerta et al. Ethyl 3-aminopropionate and 2-cyanoethanol were used to synthesize 3-amino-1-propanol, and the product of high purity was also obtained, but the yield was still very low.
3-Aminopropanol Uses
- Available organic synthesis intermediates. Used in the synthesis of drugs such as cyclophosphamide and Xincoding.
- 3-Aminopropanol can be used to synthesize cyclophosphamide, Xincoding and other drugs, and it can also be used to synthesize DL-panthenol.
- 3-Aminopropanol used in organic synthesis.
- In the field of biology, amino alcohol structure widely exists in many drugs, especially antihistamines. Shingosine is the main basis of sphingolipids used for signal transmission and cell recognition in mammals. It is an amino alcohol. Amino alcohol compounds are prepared β- Lactam antibiotics, food and cosmetic humectants, flavorings, and starting materials for many oral, injectable or topical drugs. Amino alcohol is an amine buffer used in many drugs.
- Amino alcohol is used in personal care products and has the neutralization function of acidic raw materials. They make the resin material water-soluble.
- Amino alcohol is used as auxiliary dispersants for pigment dispersion to improve wetting and viscosity stability. Salts of amino alcohols are also used in coatings to improve packaging stability.
Refining Process of 3-Aminopropanol
- Fix the catalyst on the baffle in the reactor, fix the baffle in the reactor through the grid plate, and set at least five non-contact baffles in the reactor;
- Add hydroxypropionitrile to the reactor, the mass ratio of hydroxypropionitrile to catalyst is 5-7:0.3, so that the hydroxypropionitrile floods the uppermost baffle in the reactor;
- At the bottom of the reactor, a mixed gas of ammonia and hydrogen is introduced through an aeration plate. The volume ratio of ammonia to hydrogen in the mixed gas is 10-20:1, and the volume ratio of mixed gas to hyprotonitrile is 12-15: 1. The temperature of the mixed gas is 100-140℃, and the pressure in the reactor is maintained at 60-80Kpa;
- After the mixed gas is passed in, continue to pass in hydrogen at a temperature of 100-140°C for 20-30 minutes to obtain a product liquid in the reactor;
- Pass the product liquid into a distillation tower to purify 3-amino-1-propanol, and the distillation tower outputs 3-amino-1-propanol at the top.
