What is N-Phenylbenzylamine?
A series of benzylaniline hydrochloride acts as potential cytotoxic and anti mitotic agents by inhibiting tubulin polymerization.
The electropolymerization of n-benzylaniline on transparent indium tin oxide glass electrode was studied by UV-Vis spectroelectrochemistry. The electrochemical oxidation of n-benzylaniline in sulfuric acid aqueous solution produces an adhesive conductive polymer film on platinum electrode.
N-Phenylbenzylamine Uses
- N-benzylaniline is the main metabolite of antihistamine antazoline and other N-substituted benzylaniline.
- N-benzylaniline is used for the separation of trivalent gallium, indium and thallium by solvent extraction.
- N-benzylaniline can be used to synthesize fine organic chemicals.
The Production Method of N-Phenylbenzylamine
It is obtained by condensation of Chlorobenzyl with aniline. Mix and stir sodium bicarbonate, water and aniline, heat to 90-95 ℃, and slowly add Chlorobenzyl. Reaction at 90-95 ℃ for 3h. Cool and filter. The filtrate is layered, and the organic layer is washed with saturated salt water and dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate. Then distill under reduced pressure, collect 81 ℃ (1.6kpa) fraction to recover aniline, cool and solidify 170-190 ℃ (1.6kpa) fraction to obtain benzylaniline.
Petroleum ether can be used for recrystallization during refining. The yield is more than 80%.
