Cuprous chloride is white or off white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water, soluble in concentrated hydrochloric acid and ammonia liquor to produce complex, insoluble in ethanol. As a catalyst, fungicide, mordant, decoloring agent; metallurgical industry; in gas analysis for determination of carbon monoxide and acetylene.
