Product Description

Cyanide CAS 590-28-3 PotassiuM cyanate

1. Reduced from sodium amalgam to formaldehyde by reaction with inorganic acid. Or produced by oxidation of potassium cyanide with air or oxygen. It can also be made by heating a mixture of potassium carbonate or potassium hydroxide and urea.

2. Prepare potassium carbonate and urea by heating. Seventy g of fine powdery anhydrous K2CO3 and 80g urea were taken and fully mixed. The mixture is placed in a porcelain steamer and heated in a fume hood with a gas lamp. Press the mixture down from time to time, but do not stir to reduce mechanical loss. The mixture melts and releases a lot of NH3. The mixture becomes almost solid and then melts again to form a clear liquid. When the melt has calmed down and there are almost no more bubbles on the surface, cease fire and test the carbonate. If there is still carbonate in the melt, add 1g of urea to the mix and heat the mixture until no gas is released. When there is no more carbonate in the melt, pour it into a dry mortar.
