What is 2-Amino-3-Hydroxypyridine?
2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine, the English name is 2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine, it is off-white to brown powder under normal temperature and pressure, and has a certain alkalinity. 2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine is a pyridine derivative, insoluble in water, but has good solubility in alcoholic organic solvents, and can also be dissolved in highly polar dimethyl sulfoxide. The substance is a commonly used organic synthesis and medicinal chemical intermediate, which can be used for the synthesis of anti-AIDS drug molecules and bioactive molecules, and has certain applications in the field of pharmaceutical and chemical production.
The 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine structure contains a pyridine ring unit, active hydroxyl and amino structures, and has good chemical reactivity. Under basic conditions, both hydroxyl and amino groups can act as nucleophiles to attack the halogen atoms in alkyl halides, resulting in nucleophilic substitution reactions. This reaction usually requires the presence of a base to provide a basic environment for the nucleophile. In the reaction, the halogen in the alkyl halide is replaced by an amino or hydroxyl group, forming a new chemical bond.
2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine forms complexes with various transition metals. It can inhibit the corrosion of aluminum and copper in acidic solution. It condenses with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaaldehyde and 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde to form a Schiff base. For the preparation of clinical anti-inflammatory analgesics.
2-Amino-3-Hydroxypyridine Uses
2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine was used as a reagent for the reaction of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate with triphenylphosphine to generate functionalized coumarins and 1,4-oxazines.
2-Amino-3-hydroxypyridine can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry, and is mostly used in the production process of drug molecules. For example, it has been reported in relevant literature that this substance can be used for the preparation of DNA-PK inhibitors and molecules with antibacterial activity . In organic synthetic chemistry, this substance can be used in the synthesis of drug substance molecules.
