In terms of citrus, Dr. Eckert of the United States discovered in 1962 that volatile fatty amines have inhibitory effects on citrus green and green mold. In 1975, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the World Health Organization jointly proposed the residues of sec-butylamine on citrus: dried citrus pulp and molasses 50mg/kg, citrus pulp 30mg/kg, citrus juice 0.5mg/kg , China GB2760-86 stipulates that the residue of sec-butylamine in citrus pulp is 0.005g per kg.

Hebei Agricultural University soaked citrus fruits with sec-butylamine aqueous solution. After 70 days of storage, the good fruit rate was 93.78%, which was 23.58% higher than that of the control group. After the later scientific research and experiments, the series of sec-butylamine preservatives have been successively developed, namely AB preservatives, No. 2 citrus preservatives, 2-AB carbonate salts, citrus rotjing and tangerine preservatives. By adjusting the proportion of each component in the series of preservatives, various citrus fruits can obtain good storage effect under different harvest periods of early, middle and late.

In terms of apples, sec-butylamine has the effects of inhibiting, contacting, fumigating and infiltrating spores and mycelium of apple ringworm. Using sec-butylamine diluent to soak the fruit for 1 min, air-dry it in the cellar, the control effect of Chiyang, Jinguan, Marshal and Ganlu varieties can reach 88.5% to 98.6%. Due to the low vapor pressure of sec-butylamine, fumigation can also be used. When packaging in plastic bags, place a penicillin bottle in every 20kg fruit bag, containing 4-5g of sec-butylamine powder, seal it with gauze, and slowly release the gas , the control rate can reach more than 90%. In terms of longan, fumigation and fruit dipping were used to treat longan fruits. After one month of storage, the average good fruit rate of fumigation method was 99.05%, and the good fruit rate of dipping method was 97.3%, while the untreated longan control group was only 99.05%. 39.6%, excellent anti-corrosion effect.

On vegetables, potato tubers were fumigated with sec-butylamine to control gangrene and skin damage during storage.

Before the 1980s, copper sulfate and carbendazim were often used in China to be mixed in cleaning and color-protecting solutions for antiseptic treatment. Now, due to the emergence of the new anti-corrosion and fresh-keeping agent sec-butylamine, the anti-corrosion and fresh-keeping of potatoes has become simple and easy. The specific methods can be fumigated with sec-butylamine or washed potato pieces. When fumigating, use 60mg 14g/m350% sec-butylamine per kg of potato pieces for more than 12min. When washing tubers, 20 000kg of tubers can be washed with sec-butylamine with a net content of 50% per kg after being diluted with water, and the antiseptic effect is good. The cold storage in Xuanwu District, Beijing has carried out research on the application of sec-butylamine in the cold storage. On the basis of the success of the small test, in 1983, a productive experiment with a processing capacity of 30,000 kg and a storage period of 249 days was carried out. Comparing the garlic moss treated with sec-butylamine with the blank control group, the rate of good moss was 10% higher than that of the control group.

The residual amount of sec-butylamine in the storage of garlic moss is 0.003g/Kg according to GB2760. Sun Rujing and others also did sec-butylamine preservative tests on kidney beans, cucumbers and tomatoes, all of which achieved good control effects. The above research results show that sec-butylamine has a very significant control effect on fungal diseases of various fruits and vegetables during storage.
