Adenosylmethionine is a physiologically active molecule commonly found in human tissues and body fluids. It serves as a methyl donor (transmethylation) and a precursor (transsulfuration) of physiological sulfhydryl compounds (such as cysteine, taurine, glutathione and coenzyme A, etc.) Biochemical reaction. In the liver, adenosylmethionine regulates the fluidity of liver cell membranes by promoting the methylation of plasma membrane phospholipids, and promotes the synthesis of sulfide products in the process of detoxification through the transsulfide reaction. These reactions help prevent cholestasis in the liver. Adenosylmethionine is known as the “liver nutrient solution”.
