What is L-Proline?
Proline (symbol pro or P) is an organic acid that is classified as a protein amino acid (used in protein biosynthesis), although it does not contain amino NH2 is a secondary amine. Under biological conditions, the secondary amine nitrogen is in the form of protonated NH 2 +, while the carboxyl group is in the form of deprotonated COO -. α The “side chain” of carbon is connected with nitrogen to form pyrrolidine ring, which is classified as aliphatic amino acid. L-proline (proline for short) is one of the 18 kinds of amino acids in human body to synthesize protein. It is colorless to white crystal or crystalline powder at room temperature, slightly odorous, slightly sweet in taste, easily soluble in water, difficult to Soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and n-butanol. Amino acid is a general term for a class of organic compounds containing amino groups and carboxyl groups. L-Proline Uses
- As an amino acid, l-proline can supplement nutrients and is the raw material for amino acid infusion.
