Trypsin ACTS as a proteolytic enzyme. However, the drug may cause chills, fever, headache, chest pain, abdominal pain, dyspnea, skin rash, angioneurotic edema, elevated intraocular pressure, leukopenia and other adverse reactions, rare anaphylactic shock.
