What is 1-Propoxy-2-Propanol?
1-Propoxy-2-propanol is a colorless, low odor, low toxicity liquid.
1,2-propylene oxide reacts with n-butanol in the presence of a catalyst. After crude distillation and rectification, 1-propoxy-2-propanol is obtained.
1-Propoxy-2-Propanol Uses
1-Propoxy-2-propanol is mainly used in cleaning agents. Its performance is similar to ethylene glycol butyl ether, but its odor toxicity is lower than the former, so it can be used instead of ethylene glycol butyl ether. The fast evaporation and excellent solubility of organic stains make this product can be used in household and industrial cleaners, degreasers, metal cleaners, hard surface cleaners, and is an excellent solvent for glass cleaners and general cleaners.
